As Michael and Holly witness Todd drive away from the view in his office, Michael smiles as he refers to Packer as "an ass" before they embrace. Before he has a chance to, however, Todd insults Holly, which causes Michael to keep Dwight and Jim's scheme a secret and allow Todd to take the "job" in Florida. When Michael finds out about the scheme, he plans to tell Todd that Dwight and Jim have tricked him. They call him, pretending to be Corporate offering him a job in Tallahassee, Florida, a job which Todd readily accepts. Dwight and Jim scheme to get rid of Todd, first by planning to pull pranks on him, but eventually taking more drastic measures. Michael gets Todd to apologize, but everyone can tell that the apologies are insincere. Michael and Todd have coffee in the lobby, where Todd says he wants to make the effort to be a better person. Holly, who was at first excited to have Todd in the office per Michael's recommendations, quickly discovers how insensitive Todd is and asks Michael to get him under control. Only Michael, who has a similar sense of humor, is un-offended by Todd. Todd repeatedly offends everybody with his "jokes," especially Kevin, although Kevin pretends to go along with it. Holly gives him a job as a salesman, forcing Dwight to leave his desk and move to the annex. However, the office is unsure if they want him to work there due to his previous behavior. Note: Don't get The Hater confused with Sean O' Neal's The Daily Buzzkill, which is a baby-step up from Amelie's digital mess.Traveling salesman Todd Packer comes to Dunder Mifflin looking for a desk job in the office.

If you decide to listen to this piece of audio-torture, you might as well enjoy it by playing the drinking game to Amelie's giggling-you will be dead by the first minute. The Hatecast (clever title) features Amelie spouting off platitudes about the stuff she hates for no good reason. And because writing articles just wasn't enough, she came up with the bright idea of recording a podcast about her half-ass thoughts, because she decided that there wasn't enough pop-culture podcasts gracing everyone's iPods. The relevance of her articles reflect the relevance of her subjects: becoming old and forgotten within the same day they are printed. Her writing usually consists-hypocritically-of why Ashton Kutcher, Zach Braff, and Dane Cook suck, while ignoring the fact that the barrel of fish she shoots into have already been shot at many times before.

When you waste your life paying attention to so much pop-culture, like Amelie has, you don't have much of a future to look forward to, except, well, regurgitating your thoughts on the very subject, thinking you're actually contributing something helpful to society. You see, most people like Amelie decide to waste their (read: parents) money for college to become pop-culture writers and critics when they first realize that they don't need to actually prove why their opinions are correct, knowing that their reasons are, in the end, subjective (which they will usually deny), unlike science which requires different forms of testing to prove their hypotheses. Why? Because Bill Nye's disembodied head exclaiming "science rules!" was too damn hard for Amelie to mentally digest. In a country that needs more good doctors, scientists and science journalists, she decided to, instead, become a pop-culture celebrity snark writer. Amelie Gillette is a "writer" who decided that there wasn't enough pop-culture blogs gracing the web, so someone at The Onion and/or AV Club allowed her to start a blog called The Hater.
